That doesn’t include the household value points, which I keep failing to calculate. I should just remove them from the other accounting posts and calculate at the end.

Generation 4 Legacy Accounting

At last, all of Generation 4 are accounted for. It really is a long time between accounting posts.

Generation 4: 1 point

Lifetime Wish: 3 points
– Ada: Illustrious Author (Max Painting and Writing Skills)
– Charles: Seasoned Traveler (Visa Level 3 in all destinations)
– Veronica: Paranormal Profiteer (Level 10 in Ghost Hunter profession)

Portraits: 4 points. All painted by Ada.
 – Charles
 – Veronica
 – Ada
 – Alberto Sample-Royale

Legacy House/Net worth: 5pts
To my surprise, if you sell off the investments, the Samples are now worth over 1 million simoleons. That’s 500k more than when I last measured:

Aspiration Rewards: 5 points
Ada left the household at 130k (1 point)
Veronica died at 180k (1 point)
Charles died at 370k!!! (3 points!)

Total for Generation 3: 17

Generation 3 Legacy Accounting

Wow, it’s a lot time between the closing out of each generation in this legacy. I’d say it’s because I blog so much, but it’s really because I don’t get nearly enough time to play.

Keep in mind that I accounted for Cyclone with Generation 2 since he passed on before Lance and Layla did.

Generation 3: 1 point

Lifetime Wish: 4 points
– Zahra: Creature-Robot Crossbreeder (Science Career)
– Fabian: Dynamic DNA Profiler (Law Enforcement Career)
– Adjo: Super Popular (20 friends)
– Shanni: Heartbreaker (Be the former girlfriend of 10 sims. In this case: Michael Bachelor, Miraj Alvi, Richard Branch, Jake Roland, Willem Yo, Xander Clavell, Hank Goddard, Israel Bauer, Mortimer Goth, and Agnes Crumplebottom. Whew!)

Portraits: 4 points. All accounted for, painted by Lance.

Legacy House/Net worth:

Aspiration Rewards: 4
Zahra died at 240k (2 points)
Fabian died at 140k (1 point)
Adjo left the household at 70k (0 points)
Shanni left the household at 120k (1 point)

Total for Generation 3: 13

Generation 2 Legacy Accounting

So, Generation 2 has finally come to a close, and here is their Pinstar point accounting.

I’m including Cycl0n3 here. Though he is technically part of Generation 3, he lived out his short ghost existence and passed on before Lance or Layla.

Now, technically Pinstar is adamant that playable ghosts and their children don’t count. However, his reasoning is that you can’t bring back a member of the bloodline after death to get more time to max him out. Cycl0n3 wasn’t someone who accidentally died and was resurrected. He entered the household as a ghost, and he married into the bloodline as a ghost. Therefore, I’m declaring Pinstar’s rule inapplicable.

Generation 2: 1 point

Lifetime Wish: 3 (4) points
– Lancelot: Renaissance Sim, skills Painting, Athletics, and Martial Arts
– Layla: Perfect Garden
– Cycl0n3: Chess Legend

Layla also became a Celebrated 5-Star Chef. This was NOT her Lifetime Wish. However, I’m unlikely to pursue a culinary sim again, and she did all the work for it without any overlap. I am contemplating awarding points for multiple, non-overlapping LTW criteria that are met by the same sim. For example, Lance wouldn’t get credit for Physical Perfection — Maxing Athletic and Martial Arts skills — because those skills were already applied to his existing LTW. But Layla could get credit for maxing out her career AND growing a perfect garden. Keeping in mind that you can’t duplicate Lifetime Wishes, so a future sim couldn’t take that wish.

Portraits: 3 points
Lancelot painted portraits of himself, Layla, and Cycl0n3.

Legacy House/Net worth: 1 point.
The house has added over $100k in net worth since Generation 1

Aspiration Rewards: 4
Lancelot died at 260,000 (2 points)
Layla died at 190,000 (sob, 1 point)
Cyclone died at 100,214 (1 point).

Cycl0n3 just barely made it, and he probably wouldn’t have made it if not for the extra days he got from his aging being frozen. So I suppose that’s a bit of compensation for losing Layla’s point.

Total for Generation 2: 12 (13)

Generation 1 Legacy Accounting

So, I backpatched my story into the Sims 3 Legacy Challege just b/c that made it more fun. I’m probably going to be rejected by any purists b/c I don’t want to keep 10 generations on one lot and build a big house. I want to use precreated houses (by people with far more aesthetic skill than I have) and move my Sims family around as it gains power. I still plan to score family net worth when I get to the end. And, honestly, with the inherent money loss that goes with selling a place and buying a new one, it seems like though I didn’t spend my first generation camping on a huge lot, I’ll be taking a bit of a hit to net worth over time.

At any rate, now that Generation 1 is dead, I can account points for their lives.

Generation: 1, a point for the first generation

Lifetime wants: 2, both members of the bloodline (Susie and Connor) fulfilled their lifetime wants

Portraits: 2, Lance painted portraits of both of his parents, getting them in just under the wire

Legacy House/Net worth: 1, net worth is over $100k at the time of Connor’s death

Aspiration Rewards: 2, both Connor and Susie reached 100k lifetime happiness points. Neither reached 200k. Geeze, I can’t imagine how I’d get them to do that.

Total for generation 1: 8 points

One more bit going forward. I decided that I wanted a family trait, but Lance didn’t actually share any traits with his mother. I really wanted the trait to be Brave, which neither of his parents had (Lance did inherit Good from his father, and aside from the fact that he’s not the Sample founder, I so do not want that to be the family trait).

BUT, remember that I only gave Susie four traits because I thought she could fill in the blanks as an adult based on her experiences? Well… serendipity! With a bit of Midlife Crisis, I gave her the Brave trait for her final trait after she retired. It didn’t disrupt anything she’d been playing with all her life, and thus I declare that it is not Against the Rules. Thus, the whole bloodline is backpatched into a Legacy.
